Rehabilitation remediates impairments and promotes mobility, function, and quality of life through examination, diagnosis, prognosis, and physical intervention (therapy using physical agents, mechanical force, adaptive devices, and movements). It is carried out by physical therapists (known as physiotherapists in most countries) and physical therapist assistants (known as physical rehabilitation therapists or physiotherapy assistants in some countries). In addition to clinical practice, other activities encompassed in the physical therapy profession include research, education, consultation, and administration. In many settings, physical therapy services may be provided alongside, or in conjunction with, other medical services.
Motor Vehicle Accident Rehab
If you have been injured in an automobile-related accident, you have access to chiropractic, physiotherapy and massage therapy through your car insurance policy. You do not need to see a physician first, unless you so choose. You may see one of our qualified primary healthcare professionals directly, as soon as possible. We will assess you and if further investigation is required by a medical doctor, we will make the appropriate referral or send a letter to your own physician.
Sports Injury Rehab
Sports Injury Rehabilitation helps athletes effectively treat pain and return to normal function. We emphasize the importance of early injury recognition and treatment.
In conjunction with receiving a course of treatment, specific strengthening and flexibility exercises will be implemented. Progressive exercises are included in rehabilitation programs to ensure the injury site returns to a fully functional state.
We provide care that is tailored to each individual patient. Our team approach includes close communication with the referring physician on the progress of each individual.
Sports Injury Rehabilitation treats a range of conditions including acute sports injuries, strains, sprains, muscle, tendon and ligament repairs, tendonitis, hand injuries, shoulder dislocation, foot or ankle dysfunction and surgery rehab.
If you have been injured in a work-related accident we have qualified primary health care professionals that are able to diagnose and provide the excellent care you require to get back to work as soon as possible. You do NOT have to remain off work in order to qualify for healthcare benefits. You do not need to go to your medical doctor first, nor is a referral necessary.
We are WSIB certified and can complete all necessary paperwork in compliance with the WSIB. Let us help you to get back to work in a safe and time efficient manner, OR keep you at work while providing you with the necessary treatment you need to overcome your injury.
Post Surgical Rehab
Our goal during your post-surgical rehabilitation is to return you to your prior level of physical function. This includes successful return to your work, recreational activities, and competitive sports.
Our therapists provide one-on-one treatment sessions to closely monitor your progress and will advance you according to your response as well as your physician’s recommendations. We maintain regular communication with your surgeon to ensure your progress matches the rate of tissue healing so that your recovery is optimal.
Your participation in your rehabilitation is critical. On your first post-surgical visit, your therapist will work with you to establish your goals for therapy. Your therapist will review any post-surgical precautions you may have. You will also be prescribed a home exercise program so that you can continue your progress outside of therapy.
Postural retraining involves utilizing strengthening and often stretching techniques that will enable your child to attain and maintain an efficient posture against gravity. Strength of the core muscles (i.e. abdominals and back muscles) plays an important role in the ability to stand efficiently, including the ability to stand in line without getting overly tired. Efficient posture differs for each child, but our skilled therapists are trained to recognize specific areas of weakness and tailor a therapeutic program to address individual needs.
